About Us

At Kayla’s Survivors, we stand with survivors—those who have endured sexual abuse, assault, misconduct, or institutional neglect. As a survivor-led, woman-led law firm, we have first-hand experience that grounds our firm and puts survivors’ healing at the center of our work. From guaranteeing confidentiality and an empathetic approach, to our specialized expertise and fierce advocacy, we promise to put your needs first. As nationally-recognized sexual abuse attorneys, our purpose is to help you reclaim your voice, pursue justice, and hold both perpetrators and institutions accountable for the harm caused by sexual violence.

Our Story

Our founder, Kayla Onder, is herself a survivor of sexual violence. Her personal journey from silence to strength guides the heart of this firm. Because she has walked this path, she understands both the pain and the courage it takes to come forward. What began as her personal commitment to stand with survivors has grown into a national practice dedicated to compassion, justice, and institutional change.

Over the years, our team has built a strong network of lawyers, advocates, and professionals who share this mission. Together we have secured nearly $1 billion in verdicts and settlements. Just as importantly, we have given countless survivors of sexual violence the validation and hope they deserve on their road to healing.

What We Do

We focus exclusively on cases of sexual abuse and institutional negligence. Many of our clients were harmed in settings and communities where they should have been safe—schools, churches, treatment programs, hospitals, or youth organizations. We work to uncover the factors within an institution’s culture that allowed sexual violence to occur or go unchecked. Our work is thus twofold: bringing justice to individual survivors while also shining the light on systemic problems and institutional neglect.

When we take on a case, we begin with a confidential conversation to understand your story. From there, we work to uncover the truth, hold individuals and institutions accountable, and seek fair compensation for the harms you’ve suffered. At the same time, we push for broader change, because protecting one survivor also helps protect others.

Our work goes beyond justice; we are a movement for cultural change. We provide a platform for survivors to go public with their stories, should they choose to do so. We know from personal experience that publicly sharing a survival story can be immensely empowering–for the survivor as well as for others. You will never feel pressure to share your story, yet you'll have our unwavering support if you choose that path. Whatever your choice, we honor it and shape our advocacy around your needs.

What Makes Us Different

How We Work

Survivors deserve more than legal representation; they deserve to be heard, believed, and supported. We approach each client with empathy and respect, providing space for you to share your experience in your own way and at your own pace. Because the legal system can feel overwhelming, we walk alongside you, explaining your rights and options with honesty and care.

Confidentiality is central to everything we do. Your identity and your decisions guide the process, and nothing moves forward without your consent. For us, justice is not measured only by verdicts or settlements—it is about shifting the culture, exposing institutional negligence, and preventing future harm.

Why Choose Us

Because we are survivors as well as advocates, we bring a unique depth of understanding to this work. Our experience in complex sexual abuse cases has taught us how to navigate the most challenging legal and emotional landscapes. Survivors who come to us find not only experienced counsel but also a team that believes in their story and fights tirelessly on their behalf.

Our Vision

We imagine a future where no survivor feels forced into silence, where institutions are held to account, and where healing is recognized as both possible and powerful. We believe the law should be more than a system of punishment; it should be a path toward restoration, justice, and change.

If you are searching for someone to believe you, to stand with you, and to fight beside you, we are here. You are not alone. Your story matters. And together we can take the next step toward accountability and healing.

Who Can File an Abuse Lawsuit?

Survivors of sexual abuse have the right to pursue justice through a civil lawsuit, even if the abuse occurred many years ago or during childhood. In institutional abuse cases, accountability goes beyond the individual perpetrator. It also extends to the organization that allowed the abuse to happen—whether through negligence, lack of oversight, or deliberate cover-up. Click here to learn more.
